Description: Here is a Zeiss Protar Series VIIa No. 16 convertible lens. The elements have been mounted in a large Optimo No. 4 shutter so the identification writing on the lens barrel is not there but each element says Focus 19 1/4" and the convertible scale shows f6.3 combined or f12.5 separate showing that it is a Series VIIa No. 16 Protar lens. It has a combined focal length of 11 inches and it says it covers 7" x 9" so stopped down it a little it should have no issue covering 8x10. I am selling the lens "as-is" as it does have some issues with the shutter. The diaphragm blades are misaligned. The shutter does fire but it seems to be on one uniform speed. It comes with its mounting flange. The glass is clean but does show some wear and has some balsam seperation around the edges. With a little work it looks like it would be a great large format camera lens. Check out my other auctions for more large format cameras and lenses.
