Description: This is a very fine World War II Army Air Corps Type Flight Surgeon’s wing that is in excellent condition. The wing is shirt size and measures 2-inches from wing tip to wing tip. The fletching in the individual wing feathers is exquisite. It is well struck and exhibits sharp detail. The caduceus is applied as a separate piece to the center of the wing. The reverse is marked, ‘BALFOUR, STERLING’ within a box and ‘1/20 10k GF’. The swing pin and roller locking catch are both present and remain fully functional. This wing is with an attractive, light age toned patina to the gilt finish and remains an exceptionally fine example in excellent, undamaged condition. 8901
