WONDERFUL Antique Ornate German Silver Chatelaine Coin Change Compartment Purse

Description: WONDERFUL antique Art Nouveau or Art Deco style large German silver chatelaine coin changer/holder purse. This beautiful coin purse is 5 1/2” long, including the chain and ring, by 2” wide by 5/8” deep. The coin changer alone measures 2 1/2” long. It weighs 44.3 grams. It has a pocket watch style push button open and close button at top that works very well, but that is missing the small knob at the very top. It has a lovely repoussé design of flowers, leaves and ribbons front and back with an engraved “S” on one side and “1910” on the other side. The interior has three coin holders into which fit quarters, dimes and nickels. This coin changer/holder is in very good antique condition with no damage other than minor, age appropriate surface wear or minor metal discoloration. It has no dings nor dents. The interior is bright silver and is also in very good antique condition. All of the coin slots work as they should. It is stamped “German Silver” on the interior, as pictured. This item was found at a lovely little antique store in the 1970’s in Northwestern Iowa. German silver was developed in China and perfected in Germany sometime between the 1750’s and early 1800’s. It consists of copper, nickel and zinc and is popular because of its durability, lack of corrosion and its ability to resist tarnish. ***PLEASE NOTE: Any display items pictured, including antique ring boxes, are NOT included.*** I request payment within two days of purchase and will ship within two days of payment via USPS Priority mail.
