Scarce imprint from Penfield, Georgia. The previous owner, Rev. Brooks, has a few published messages, one in particular titled "Washing the Saints Feet" printed in Macon, 1830. His last name is printed "Brookes". The Christian Index moved from Philadelphia to Georgia in 1833. Jesse Mercer became publisher along with William Stokes in 1833.
