Description: Wild Life in Central Africa by Denis (D.D.) Lyell VERY SCARCE FIRST EDITION Difficult to acquire hunting text, Wild Life in Central Africa by Denis (D.D.) Lyell. Published in the U.K. in 1913 in its original hunter-green all-cloth boards. This 111 year-old book is in acceptable pre-owned condition. The boards have begun to separate from the binding, but are still attached at the cloth. Please see pictures. The boards do also display scuffing and marking both on the front and back covers as well as the spine. There is general soiling and bumping/wear to the corners and head/tail of the spine. The binding is somewhat loose but holding together. On the inside, there is general toning and soiling/foxing throughout the book to include the ends of pages. There is a previous owner's stamp on the first page. All pages and photographs/illustrations present. There is a minor crease here and there, but pages are free of markings and tears. Lovely worn copy of this well-known work on Big Game African hunting, which is difficult to find in any condition. This book will be packaged extremely well to ensure safe travel.
