Description: Sam Crawford is the all-time leader in triples with 309! That's right! Probably never be broken. He finished with 2,961 hits, just 39 shy of 3000! This guy was some ballplayer. He played from 1899-1917 and roamed the outfield with Ty Cobb as two of the fastest outfielders ever. Impossible to hit a ball past those two. Sam was the 1901 and 1908 home run leader as well. In 1910,1914 and 1915 he lead the league in RBI. I would have liked to have seen him play and he was in the shadow of Ty Cobb while this was going on. Elected to the HOF in 1957. Here is a letter he wrote completely by hand. It is dated June 1957, and possibly written as his first as officially a member of the HOF. The letter states that he just returned from Kansas City at a special HOFer ceremony. Pretty cool! It is authenticated by JSA with a Full Letter, in ball-point pen and double matted (a $125 value) in 16x20. Frame NOT included.
