Description: W. Adams & Sons. England "Italian Scenery" Polychrome Transfer-ware Set of two plates. The back of one has two chips as shown on the photos Beautiful vintage W. Adams & Sons dark cream Plates in the Italian Scenery pattern. This pattern dates back to the 1920s (see potteries.org). The scene is of two gondolas a woman and farm animals alongside the water, and in the background is a castle with trees and mountains. Touches of maroon and green colors are throughout. The plates are rimmed with embossed scalloped rim and a green wreath pattern trim. The Plates Have a dark Cream Color and measure 9"in diameter. Such lovely pieces to display in your china cabinet or to use as replacements pieces! Because of the age, the item may have some imperfections, flaws, signs of use and age.
