Description: This is a complete vintage 1950s Mid Century Modern 5 piece china place setting. The pattern is sputnik style snowflake stars and starbursts. It is marked on the bottom "Fine Snowflake Japan". This vintage pattern is very similar in design and color to the Syracuse China Evening Star pattern, but this set was NOT made by Syracuse China. The color is bright white with metallic painted platinum silver sputnik snowflake stars and silver metallic edged rims. The cup handle is trimmed in silver. The dotted starburst spray pattern is painted gold metallic. This set is in excellent condition and has minimal, if any, wear on all 5 pieces. No chips or cracks, no crazing, no fleabites. No utensil scratching. Minimal, if any, fading of metallic trimming. This set has been lovingly cared for and has not been through a dishwasher, so there is no haze or discoloration to the trim. MCM dinnerware is getting harder and harder to find in such nice condition, most have been put through a dishwasher or there is a lot of fade in the design from many hand-washings. 1 Dinner Plate - 10 inches in diameter1 Large Bowl - 7.5 inch diameter and stands 2 inches tall (deep)1 Salad/bread or Dessert Plate - a little over 7.5 inches in diameter1 Cup and 1 Saucer 6 inch diameter on saucer and the cup has a 4 inch diameter and stands 2 1/4 inches tall Please ask any questions.
