There are no solid brass Stiffel lamps. If there is a solid brass Stiffel lamp I am not aware of it. However, many Stiffel lamps include some small solid brass parts such as fittings, check rings, finial, and base switch but the lamp bodies are not solid brass. Bodies, risers, and bases are made of high-grade cast metal that is brass plated and lacquered. The uninformed might say that their Stiffel lamp passes the magnet test so it must be brass. It will pass the magnet test because a magnet will not stick. The lamp is shown with a vintage Stiffel lamp shade for affect. Due to condition the shade is not included. Based on the electrical cord with molded non-polarized plug the lamp is surmised to be of 1960's vintage. Description and condition: bright brass finish prismatic lead crystal on body overall height 37+3/4 inches height up to bottom of shade harp bracket - 27 inches base - 6 inches square Leviton brass finish socket shell with 3-way keyed standard size socket (lamp holder) Stiffel label on socket shell in-line rotary on/off switch on original electrical cord with molded plug "signature" solid brass Stiffel finial weight - over 12 pounds The lamp is in clean, excellent condition, having a wonderful bright gleam. Oxidation has been removed from metal parts. The lamp has been tested (see photo #1) and is perfect working condition. The lead crystal glass of the body has no condition issues. On very close inspection there are minor areas of tarnish that are not very noticeable in normal living quarters. Pictures are of the actual STIFFEL lamp. Sight variation in color among the photos is the result of color and light balancing, and exposure.
