Description: Vintage/Rare Four Blade All Purpose Camp Knife by PAL Cutlery NY USA circa 1953The PAL Cutlery Company was originally established in Plattsburg, New York as the PAL Blade & Tool Company around 1925. Most of the products they produce were inexpensive tools and razor blades. In 1939, PAL acquired the cutlery division of Remington Arms Company. In 1940 they began producing “War Knives” for US military use under the PAL Cutlery Company name. At the end of WWII PAL continued to produce pocketknife patterns using left over stock material from the war production. The patterns were limited but similar to design, quality, and craftsmanship to the Remington brand. PAL continued pocketknives production until 1953. This four blade Utility/Camp Knife comes with rust-free high carbon steel Blades. Features (1) a high carbon steel spear shaped main blade, (2) a screwdriver-bottle cap lifter, (3) a can opener and (4) a leather punch (awl). All blades are tight to the frame with no wobble and have half-open lock safety feature, except the main spear blade.The spear shaped main blade has a clean, sharp tang stamp indicating an arched PAL CUTLERY CO. over MADE over IN USA suggesting vintage year circa 1953.The jigged black delrin handles are brass pinned, well-aligned with the steel knife frames, steel bolsters and steel spacers. The silver/nickel bolsters are full, no damage and has a steel shackle at one end. Overall knife lengths are 3 5/8" closed.Absolutely! No selling to minors.
