Description: Authentic sterling silver Mughal style marcasite pendant. This rectangular shape cut out pendant features a pattern of sparkly faceted marcasite. The marcasite accent a flowing interconnecting design of shapes. The look is very reminiscent or similar to pieces of Mughal jewelry. The millgrain accented edges of the design are very nicely detailed and add to the classic look. From top to bottom the rectangular portion of the pendant measures just under three-quarter inch while side to side measures close to 5/8 inch. The articulated bail shows a beaded or granulated pattern keeping with the Mughal feel. Stamped on the back of the pendant is "925", indicating sterling silver in fineness and a hallmark I can't decipher. This pendant has been lightly cleaned but not polished. Has a nice warm patina. Shows age-appropriate wear but overall, nice estate condition. Weighs a solid but comfortable 4.3 grams. This fun and interesting pendant would make a wonderful gift or self-purchase.
