Description: This vintage folding fan features a hand-painted scene of figures in a landscape, rendered in exquisite detail on silk. It's framed by black lacquer and accented with a decorative celluloid handle. A black silk tassel with a beautifully preserved knot adds a final touch of elegance.The fan is marked "Japan" on the back. While a similar fan resides in the collection of the National Historical Museum of Brazil, it's possible this one is a later reproduction or a regional variation. It was previously sold on eBay in November 2000 with a description stating it was Korean from the 1940s and included its original box (the box is no longer included).This fan is in excellent condition for its age, showing only minor signs of wear.
