Description: A lovely TUCKS number 170 “Halloween “series card showing three pretty girls (could be done by Ellen Clappsaddle?) bobbing for apples at a Halloween party. It was a pretty common thing in 1910 and I confess to have tried doing it once. All I got was wet …..no apple! Maybe that’s why the girls are looking at the apples in the water. Or maybe they are seeing something like their future husband. That seem to have been an overriding theme in many Halloween superstitions of the time. In any case this is a charming card in very good-excellent condition except for the loss on two corners. 2 Tiny pinhead size spots by girl in red. If not for that, excellent . The color and original gloss is extremely nice on this card. The gold accent is good and there is minimal wear on the edges despite being posted. The postmark is too hard to read but the handwriting says it was written in 1911. I am a collector and every year this time I sell excess cards from my collecting. Since I upgrade as well as buy lots that may have duplicates for me. I am listing several now and more in about a week and a half. I do combine shipping and I send in archival sleeves. Usually several cards shipped for the price of one so please check out my other listings
