Vintage Gilbert "1807" Tambour Hr and 1/2 Hr strike Mantel Clock

Description: Early history William L. Gilbert started his career in Bristol, Connecticut, a regional clock-making center. In 1840, he moved to Winchester, where he made affordable wall and shelf clocks. Clock styles Gilbert made many styles of clocks, including black mantel, wood-finished mantel, pressed-wood kitchen, schoolhouse, regulators, office wall, calendars, and alarm clocks. Clocks today Many Gilbert clocks are still in working order in homes today. Gilbert clocks are considered a good choice for collectors and their value is slowly increasing NOTE: Many Gilbert Clocks have 1807 on the dial and some people think the clocks are actually that old. They are not. The William Gilbert Clock Company did not start putting 1807 on their clocks until the 1920's in what was an attempt to make their company seem older that it was. The number "1939" is written on the receipt. I'm wondering if this represents the year it was made.
