The METAL used is CARBON STEEL and is FULL TANGED (full framed) with natural HICKORY WOOD HANDLE COVERS with STEEL PINS. As stated I stained the wood to enhance the apperance of the wood. The handles are solid to the frame and without any splits. The Sheath is very well made of a selected bovine hide by Harry J. Epstein Co. of Md. (A.1). Weight including the Sheath is 2# 1 oz. Axe Head is 5 1/2 inches wide, The length from the top to bottom edge of the handle is 13 1/2 inches. this hatchet would serve well for a scout or an other addition to your collection, I will only ship by insured US POSTAL service to our United States.
