Signed Albert Scharning pieces are getting harder to find in this fine condition as the Modernist look is currently trending and folks are scooping up what they can find. ALL of the pieces are in excellent vintage condition and show very little, if any wear. They look like they were just hiding in a jewelry box for 50 years or so. To me this piece is in excellent vintage condition! There is a gold wash over the sterling so the metal appears gold. The enamel is an white and shiny. The metal is sterling silver (925) and was made by Albert Scharning in Norway. Although the company continued on after his death in 1950 until the early 80s, this piece I am told was more than likely from the 40s-50s as it has the MCM (Mid Century Modern) look to the design. The piece is shiny gold and all of the enamel looks great. I did lightly polish the necklace but I was not overly aggressive as I didn’t want to damage the enamel it at all because it is in excellent condition. Some folks will wear it as it is and some will do a little polishing of the metal to try to get it super shiny. I would wear it in its current state as I think it is really a great piece.
