Vintage 1987 English Sterling Silver London Hallmarked Ribbon Motif Brooch

Description: This is a Vintage 1987 English Sterling Silver London Hallmarked Ribbon Motif Brooch. This beautiful sterling silver brooch would be a wonderful addition to your collection of English hallmarked jewelry, or to any jewelry collection, and it would also make a vert nice gift for any occasion. As found, the brooch was offered in a new jewelry box, not original to the piece. Unless stated, boxes and other items used in our photos are not included. In this case, however, the box will be included with the listing. We have a variety of antique and vintage jewelry including gold, sterling, and signed vintage costume pieces listed, including other hallmarked English pieces. The brooch was recently purchased in England. The hallmarks on the front side of the brooch serve a nice dual purpose as decoration. The British hallmarks clearly struck on the front are: Maker's Mark - Nt in a cartouche. I was unable to find an attribution for this mark. Town Mark - London Leopard Assay Mark Silver Purity Mark - Lion Passant Sterling Silver Mark Date Letter - Ornate Capital N with curved serif at the top, corresponding to 1987 in the list of London date letters. The photos are closeups. The brooch is 2 1/4". The brooch weighs 6.3 grams as seen on our jewelry scale. Condition The brooch is in excellent condition with the exception that the profile of the pin is irregular. This seems to be partial a necessity due to the profile of the ribbon incorporating the bend / fold at the center. The locking clasp is in excellent condition.
