The weaving is in very good condition and comes from a non smokers home. Weaving measures 36" x 28.5" and was purchased from the Two Grey Hills Trading Post in 1978 and was done in 1970. The Two Grey Hills Trading Post is in New Mexico and was founded in 1897. Marie Begay is from the Burnham area on the Navajo Reservation. She and her husband Matthew have a herd of sheep. She spins her own wool and has a wonderful selection of colored fleeces to work from. Her designs are mostly geometric, with an occasional Yei incorporated in. She had five children.
