Description: This vintage combat helmet is a 1967 Action Man British Infantryman accessory, stamped Hasbro ® Hong Kong on the interior. It is essentially the same design as the Japan stamped Soldiers of the World British Commando helmet. Several helmets are being offered here without chin strap. They are all clean and intact with very light play wear. Lugs are present and intact. There are no splits or cracks. The missing chin strap is the main note. The missing chin strap is the main note. **Several helmets available for individual sale** Background story: Action Man's British Infantryman helmet is based on a steel combat helmet invented in 1915. Prior ro this lifesaving helmet, troops from all countries wore cloth or leather headgear that offered no protection at all. The original steel combat helmet has gone through many upgrades and name changes in the UK, including shrapnel helmet, battle bowler, Tommy helmet and tin hat. The Germans called it a Salad Bowl. The GI's called it a dougboy helmet and dishpan hat among other things. Harry, our resident Action Man, is holding one of the 1:6 scale helmets so you can get a better idea of their size.
