Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a very nice used Amphenol male 3 pin 91-MC3F-385 model microphone cable connectors from the 1940's - 70's. These vintage model connectors were commonly used with older Shure type microphones as well as a few other variant mics like Stromberg Carlson, Universal and Bogen. Before the modern XLR cables became the standard the mics were generally 3 and 4 pin models that had a completely different style of cable. This connector should be used on older Shure, Stromberg Carlson, Universal and DuKane microphones. The connector has a notch with a connection that does not work on the Electro Voice models. You'll see in pic # 7 the notch on the mic connector and how it lines up with the mics connection. These were used on Shure model mics such as the 55 "Fatboy", 55S 55SW 737A 708A and quiet a few others. Again, this connector has the specific 3 pin notch design. Again, this connector is in unused condition. This is the very early 1st generation 3 pin connector with the bullet style housing. This connector will require soldering so if you have those skills then this will do you justice. If you don't have the experience or ability to solder then I would suggest saving yourself the time and headache by simply buying a complete cable. Otherwise you can watch a few videos on You Tube that shows how it is done. It's reasonably priced and will do anybody justice who needs one.
