Description: Very Rare Antique 19th. century Scissor-Cut Basket of Fruit Folk Art Theorem Painting. This type of antique theorem painting is what the contemporary folk artists such as David Ellinger, G.B. French, etc. have copied for their theorem paintings. This original antique theorem painting is made from a scissor-cutout basket of fruit which was oil painted on velvet & mounted on a cloth background. These were rarely signed, this one is unsigned as well. Theorem measures approximately 15" across x 12-1/4" high & framed behind glass 16-1/2" across x 13-7/8" high. All pictures are taken without a flash to show the age toning throughout the theorem, condition is good otherwise. Frame is not period & shows use wear including dings, dents, losses & scratches.
