Description: USS Missouri BB-11 USN battleship naval first day cover postmarked from Freedom, ME on April 10, 2023. Color printed photo cachet #2475 by Alvin Eckert, 9964 USCS. Cover with a DIY matte and 5x7 frame, makes a fine gift! USS Missouri was a 393' Maine Class pre-dreadnought battleship built in Newport News, VA that served in the Great White Fleet, and World War I trained new sailors in gunnery. She was decommissioned in 1919 and sold for recycling into scrap metal in 1921, per terms of the Washington Naval Treaty. (see her web pages for the details of her design, construction and service history). Cover franked with a 13 cent Missouri State Flag stamp and a 63 cent flag stamp # 5788 (FDOI). The seller has over 40 naval covers listed on e-bay for USN battleships. Check out my other items! These items make fine USN gifts when mounted on a colored matte and placed in a 5x7 picture frame.
