Description: TEDDY EDWARDS QUARTET: Out of This World. Prestigious Danish label, used LP in Mint/Very Good+ condition. SteepleChase Records Catalog # SCS 1147; 1981 Condition: Vinyl played all of twice, looks pristine. LP jacket has very minor flaws—cut-out notch upper left and very slight ring impression as seen from front; very subtle ring impression on back. Includes soft poly inner sleeve. Behind the Music: Teddy Edwards is one of those tenor saxophonists operating in the shadows of Coltrane, Rollins, etc. (hard to escape), thus best known to Jazz aficionados. He is joined here in this session from late 1980, recorded presumably in Denmark, by the revered Kenny Drew on piano, veteran (and still active) Billy Hart on drums and “local boy” Jesper Lundgard on acoustic bass. Produced by SteepleChase owner Nils Winther. The selections: No Name No. 1 (Edwards original); April Love; title tune; Summertime; That’s All; Cheek to Cheek. About the seller: I am downsizing my personal belongings, and you can benefit. Unless otherwise indicated, all my records have been owned by me alone and treated with loving care. No scratches or gouges. I have been a Jazz radio broadcaster for 30+ years, but my musical tastes are wide-ranging. You will see this as my listed offerings grow. New items added weekly, check back often! PLEASE NOTE: I will not sell anything for less than $9.99, as it’s not worth packaging the item up and taking it to the Post Office. Sure, you can buy an LP for 50 cents or less at a yard sale, but will it have been cared for like mine? Not likely. FREE SHIPPING to U.S. address for purchase of any item of $100 or more.
