Description: Calling all Alice in Wonderland & Cheshire Cat collectors! We have something super rare for you! Up for auction is a 1974 Alice in Wonderland movie standee featuring the Cheshire Cat. Over his head, he holds a sign that reads "For all you fat cats" and the movie name is across his big belly. The standee is printed in UV-reactive neon pink and yellow paint on white cardboard with a thick black border. Overall the standee is in really good condition considering the age. The white cardboard has yellowed slightly as would be expected but the paint color is still very vibrant and glows perfectly even in very minimal black light - see the images. Did I mention he is HUGE - measuring almost 72" tall and 28" at the widest point, this guy is impressive. There are some folds around the edge of the cardboard so please look carefully at all images and ask any questions you might have before bidding. I have been a long-time collector of Alice in Wonderland memorabilia. I used to travel to Disneyana Collectible Shows looking for items and I have never come across another one of these standees in all my years of collecting. I purchased this one off of eBay back in early 2001 from the original owner. He had owned a movie theatre in NY and this standee had been stored after it was displayed in 1974. The standee comes in the original shipping box and this is exactly how it was shipped to me, which you can see in the pictures. Knowing the original box likely adds value to this rare item, I will create a secondary cardboard box to wrap around the original box to protect it when we ship to the winning bidder. There is one other Alice in Wonderland collector I located online when he posted about this movie standee in his collection back in 2009. I reached out to him to learn more about it and he shared with me that until I reached out to him, he was pretty sure his Cheshire Cat standee was the only one that existed. So there you have it! One of only two known, SUPER RARE Cheshire Cat standees could be yours!
