Description: Please read all our comments very carefully prior to bidding: These are spectacular, early and rare. Bowls are 9 inches across. One set is in near "mint" antique condition (with of course expected very early 19thc English porcelain condition surfaces) with no crazing or loss of gold paint, has one small line near the handle from original firing interesting. The other set with blue handle, has one small chip on cover top rim corner, and the bottom has long crack intact, discolorations, crazing etc. Also note some pictures show reflection from chandelier above where items were photographed in the white porcelain. SEE photos have additional can send if interested. Colors are bright and vibrant. We can send as many pictures as you wish of any part of these. We are not porcelain dealers, these are from private collection. These items are all AS IS we give the best description we can and you must also look carefully at all photos. Basically you have one that is in near mint condition and one that has wear. They are vibrant magnificent colors and gilding. Heavy and would look amazing on a period dining room side board. It is amazing these have stayed together since the early 19th century. The set that is intact with white handle the bottom dish says:"Copeland & Garrett Late Spode" with the number 3248 hand painted in red and impressed with "Spodes New Stone." Also in red paint "5." The top says Copeland & Garrett Late Spode and has same impression Spodes New Stone and in gold hand painted says "3248+" Condition is amazing on that set. Very tiny amount of gold paint loss on handle. Looks almost like the day it was made. Second set: Top with blue handle has a more blurred Copeland mark, and in black paint marked "3248" and in red paint what looks like "21." also remember that one has chip on side corner edge. Bottom of that set mentioned in poorer shape. Markings excellent. The same Copeland & Garrett Late Spode mark in blue. The same impressed "Spodes New Stone." Gilding and paint is all quite good but as mentioned there are some cracks in the surface and discoloration. Mainly seen from the back of bottom plate. Front of bottom plate mainly see just long crack line in the white bottom surface from age. See photos. Have tried to give best description I believe have not missed anything but please view all photos and ask all questions and be very satisfied before bidding. These are antiques sold as is. They evoke Queen Victoria's reign with the height of English potteries and an interest in the Orient brought into the styles of English potters. New techniques, new materials and they proudly stamped and impressed their marks. Would not recommend these for today's use these are antiques best for display in a home or museum collection. Winning bidder is asked to make payment within 3 days of end of auction. We pack and ship with great care and always post delivery confirmation. Shipping includes insurance.
