Tsuchiya Koitsu Japanese Woodblock ART Print Autumn Day DOI Baba Sacred Bridge

Description: From my Mothers estate, this listing is for one sacred bridge woodblock print only. Rainy autumn day sacred bridge Nikko 1930’s pre war strike woodblock print. By TSUCHIYA Kôitsu 1870-1949. This has been hanging for a very long time along with a few other antique Japanese pieces that I have inherited. I have removed it from its wood frame. It had a very simple paper matting that covered the margin. The colors are slightly faded from age. No creases or tears excellent condition for its age. The white water in particular has deep texture from carving, embossed effect This (along with other items that I have listed and will list ) was acquired while in US military in Japan approximately 1946/47. I have done my best to do the research on the Doi seal and title. ( I am not an expert nor can I read Japanese ) This is a unique version as there were apparently several, this has the small house on mountain side, muted late fall colors. This is secured to a paper back matting on the side I am uncomfortable with trying to remove so it will come along. There are numbers on the paper matting, but I believe that was either measurement or possibly cost as there are no edition numbers on woodblock prints of that age. This will come to you with acid free paper sandwich between two pieces of foam core. And then put in a corrugated box. Insured at my cost. I have been very careful not to touch the original artwork. Only the secondary matting on the edge .This was removed from a glass frame where it has been 77 years
