Description: Presented is a great quality English sterling silver wood lined wine bottle coaster. This piece was made by Carr's of Sheffield Ltd, and is dated 2002, though the style is timeless. The rim of the coaster is done in a pierced openwork style with a vertical pattern, very stately. The bottom of the coaster is rich dark wood, with an inset sterling silver center. The underside has a protective layer of green felt, so the coaster will not scratch fine surfaces. This wine bottle coaster is in excellent overall condition. There are some little dents to the center inset, though this would not be noticeable with a wine bottle in place. There are no splits, no major dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs. This piece is stamped on the exterior edge as well as the inset in the center with the English lion passant for sterling silver, the Tudor rose for the city of Sheffield, the date letter C for 2002 and the maker's mark for Carr's of Sheffield, as well as a stamp of 925, for the decimal purity of sterling silver. The coaster measures about 5 1/8 inches in diameter and stands about 1 3/4 inches tall. The interior diameter, as for a wine bottle, is about 4 5/8 inches.
