STROMBECKER SKI-BOB SNOWMOBILE RACE SET in BOX, VERY RARE TRANSITIONAL SET 1/32

Description: This sale is for what I believe is an extremely rare version of the Strombecker Ski-BOB slot car set. I think it is fair to refer to this as a transitional or pre-production set. The normal Monza set came with 4 car bodies and 2 chassis, so you could change your cars. It appears that before Strombecker started producing the final Ski-BOB set, they slapped a Ski-BOB sticker on the Monza box and replaced two of the car bodies with snowmobile bodies. So unlike the final Ski-BOB set, this version has no runners and you just attached the car chassis to the snowmobile body. The car bodies that come with it are an American Coupe and Ford GT. I love the note on the Ski-BOB box sticker that says "Disregard all other information shown elsewhere on this lid.". The set comes with the 2 chassis, 2 snowmobile bodies, 2 car bodies, 3 banked curves, 9 regular straight track, 1 track piece to connect to the transformer, 2 controllers, transformer, 5 guard rails, 6 flag poles, instructions, a bunch of track clips, pylons and other miscellaneous pieces. Everything is in good condition. The transfomer and cars work. The Ford GT has a crack on the hood near the windshield. The track has some light stains and a few spots of surface rust but for the most part they are clean. Two of the lips on the banked curves are cracked along the edge. One is just about broken all the way off. One controller has an old piece of tape on it. Not sure why, it doesn't seem cracked. The instructions say nothing about the snowmobiles. The box lid has one large tear that goes up one side and across a portion of the top. There is a tear on another side too. Satisfaction is guaranteed.
