Description: Up for auction is an old and uncommon railroad hat badge from the Southern Pacific Railroad Company. The metal style cap badge is marked on the front side “S,P. Co.", with the occupation of “Freight Conductor". The badge measures 3 1/2" x 1” and has almost all of the orignal black enamel intact. The Freight Conductor occupation was for the individual who worked as the Conductor on the road's freight service and controlled the train's movement. This is an early badge from the road.
