Description: For your consideration is a Large Casserole of the Corn-King line. Shawnee Pottery first manufactured Corn Ware in 1941, but the product line was very limited, the corn was white and it was only available as premium through Proctor & Gamble. In 1946, the corn became yellow, the product line was expanded, other changes were made and it became available to everyone. This line was called Corn King (this casserole is of the Corn King line). and it became a hit. By 1954 sales had become dismal. Rather than discontinue the line; slight changes were made, new products were added and it was renamed Corn Queen. The Corn Queen line became a hit and was still being produced when Shawnee Pottery went out of business in 1961.The total height is approximately 6 1/4".
