Description: SEATED BOXER INKWELL Swiss Wooden Antique Black Forest with Ink-cup c1880 This Late 19th Century SEATED BOXER INKWELL Swiss Wooden Antique Black Forest: - depicts a full figure of a SEATED BOXER; - is brown in color (photographed in natural light, the photos appear lighter than actual color) - is well modeled and is made of wood carved in deep relief; - is carved in exquisite detail and has an excellent patina; - has a closed mouth, the ears are out and down; - has a brass hinge back of the head that opens at the back of the neck - has an inset liner area, and includes the porcelain cup with everted rim to hold ink; - has an old felt liner on the underside bottom. The SEATED BOXER INKWELL Swiss Wooden Antique is in very good condition- noting there has been professional restoration to the front right paw; and the porcelain ink cup has a 0.4 in x 0.1 in chip on the top edge and 2 line cracks on the side. Otherwise, condition status includes minimal normal wear and rubbing. Overall, this work is sound, having no chips, cracks, or major defects, and having had no apparent repairs or other restorations.
