Description: This is a Russian made porcelain/composition ethnic Tatar maiden doll of the Crimean Peninsula in the south eastern part the Ukraine . The word Tatar refers to Muslim people in the Russian culture. This is a festive maiden's costume dating from the19th to the 20th century. She stands slightly over 10 1/4" tall and is about 2 1/2" wide. Her clothes are made of a satin-like cloth and sequins. Please note that this culture favors multiple long braids. She was made in St. Petersburg, Russia.
