It operates via an on/off switch on the bottom and uses 2 button batteries. There is very minor corrosion on the flat contact, but it has been tested and operates properly, but the figurine is like new. From 2006, the figurine is about 4.5" tall and it is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or paint problems and comes in the original box and internal protective styrofoam.
