Description: Here’s a wonderful old Western Real Photo post card from Bakersfield Cal showing a view of Swiss Toggenburg Dairy Goats posing on milking stands ? Info written on backside of card states S.L. Gregg was the manager, address PO Box 85 East Bakersfield Cal. I assume this was taken on the Gregg family farm ? Would be a fun piece to research. Did they ever bottle and sell the milk? Goat Milk bottles are very hard to find, but a card like this is even harder to find! Can see the goats on the ends being held by owners. All goats but one on far right are rear facing. I assume to show the goats udders which are full of milk. Also think the one facing forward may have been the farm stud ?? I also believe this card was used to advertise the dairy. Looks like some other goats and hogs in background. Im sure this old farmstead is long gone and probably highly developed over the past 100+ years. A Very Rare View! Postally unused, dates c1910. Is in good overall condition with some edge and corner wear, ink stains on front and another stain at top middle of card. Please view all photos closely to make your final decision on condition. Shipping charge with tracking is $4.00.
