This is called the Kuschelvase (cuddly vase) with a form number of 13717 designed by the internationally awarded Czech born designer Uta Feyl in 1983. Her designs with Rosenthal carry a distinct theme featuring shapes inspired by nature and the human form. Like her famous 'Venus' design the form of this vase resembles a bean pod comprising of two curved halves joined together with a slender opening lip. Without a flat bottom, this vessel remains unbalanced like a floating shell, yet can still hold water suitable to display a petite spray of flowers or a single stem.
