Now Roberto was 43 years old at this stage of his long momentous career & Vinny Paz also a former lightweight now fighting at super-middleweight, was resuming his career after suffering serious injury after an auto accident juxtaposed with being young enough to be Duran's son. But this fight was marred with controversy as it appeared to all but the 3 Blind Mice who were judging this fight that Duran had comprehensively out-boxed & out-fought the younger man, decking him along the way & smashing his face up whilst Duran was unmarked at the end. In what seemed a formality in raising Duran's hand as the victor, turned into a farce when Pazienza had his hand raised to a cacophony of booing from the packed MGM Arena.
