Description: This exquisite antique steamer trunk or traveling dresser is a must-have for any antique collector. With a rectangular shape and a gorgeous brown color, this trunk is designed to hold clothes and other personal items while traveling, believe this one came across on the oregon trail. It features lots.of different size drawers, up-and-over door mechanism, extra replacement old paper, and leather handles. Was made for traveling and opens up and sets against a wall like a dresser. These are very rare and hard to find, not the average trunk to say the least. Has been well cared for, has a few flaws but in overall amazing condition for its age. Does not have the key, also there is a roll of the extra wall type paper the trunk is done in if someone wanted to restore. Very very neat, unique estate find. Was told by family that it came across on the Oregon Trail. Buttons on leather handles say Hershfield and Meaney I believe, I think it was made in NewYork. Very large and heavy.
