Description: A truly scarce and remarkable item: The 1921 issue of the German Art Revue, GENIUS. Published by Kurt Wolff Verlag of Munich. This is the third in the series. The book is a remarkable publication from the early years of the Weimar Republic, a time of chaos and great expressionist art. This issue has 5 original bound-in prints. An original lithograph by Archipenko, an original woodcut by Schmidt-Rottluff, and 3 additional original lithographs by Scharff, Hofer, and Kanoldt. So a total of 4 lithographs and 1 woodcut. All are full page single-sided works. The book is full of other quality reproductions, most notably 4 small Franz Marc watercolors. Please view all posted photos. NOT ex-library. Condition is good. The somewhat soiled covers are now protected by a mylar wrapper. Intact hinges with a sound binding. A few light instances of foxing, but the text is largely clean. The last 30 or so pages have water waviness at the top inch. No brown staining however. Size is approximately 10 1/2 by 14 inches. There are 356 numbered pages. The book weighs almost 8 pounds.
