Description: Rare vintage absolutely Original PRE-TITANIC 1902 to 1909 unissued International Mercantile Marine stock certificate. It bears the number G459 and was printed originally to represent purchases of 10 Common shares of IMM stock. Its dominant color is brown. Note this is a very early IMM stock certificate showing a Lady Holding Scales at the top instead of the mass produced Ship version. This certificate is MISSING its original, detachable stub. This certificate is unissued meaning it was never written out to anyone as a receipt for purchase of IMM stock shares. It is NOT marked Specimen either, so the fact it was never filled out, makes it quite Rare. Attributes - Hand Punch Canceled at the signature lines toward the bottom of the certificate. Text running vertical on the left hand side was neatly blacked out with black marker. Condition - unused but shows obvious wear, read condition section Maker - American Bank Note Co. New York Dominant Colors - Brown , Dull White Size - 8 inches high and 11 and 11/16 inches wide It is Unknown as to exactly how many of this early type IMM stock certificate still exists. I have only seen 5 or 6 other examples.
