CONDITION Good. There is wear along top and bottom of spine and the corners. Front hinged cracked. the frontispiece is quite foxed, but most of the book is clean, although there are a few pages with some light foxing. Lightly toned pages. No loose pages. COMMENTS SCARCE original edition book signed by the author This is the collected poetry of the younger brother of William Cullen Bryant (1807-1902), who moved to Bureau County, Princeton, Illinois in 1833, where he worked as a newspaper editor, farmer, politician, and poet. He was an outspoken abolitionist, and supporter of the underground railroad. Here is a poem from this book about the underground railroad.
