Call numbers on spine. Soiling to edges. Front part of bottom edge shows shelf wear. Rubber stamp, pencil, and ink markings on front flyleaf and pastedown. Soiling and tanning to front flyleaf and pastedown. Some soiling throughout the interior pages. Pages are tanned. Soiling and tanning to back pastedown and flyleaf. Library sleeve affixed to back pastedown. I didn’t notice and defects or intrusive markings that would hinder the readability of the book.Volume 2: copyright 1910. Typical handling and shelf wear. Soiling to boards and spine. Corners are bumped inward and chipped. Cloth worn away along bottom edge of boards. Front and back joints are torn. Head and toe are missing material. Call numbers on spine. Rubber stamp marking and library sleeve on front pastedown. Rubber stamp marking on title page. Most likely missing front flyleaf. Title page is chipped along the edges and is torn and separated at the hinge. Rubber stamp marking and pencil marking on copyright page and opposite page. Next two pages are heavily tanned and foxed. Rubber stamp marking at bottom of page 51 and 161. Rubber stamp marking on back flyleaf and pastedown. Note taped to back pastedown. Back hinge is separated and cloth is exposed. I didn’t notice any defects that would hinder the readability of the book.Volume 3: copyright 1911, first edition. Typical handling and shelf wear. Soiling and staining to boards and spine. Corners are chipped. Head and toe are chipped. Call numbers on spine. Front hinge repaired with hinge tape. Heavy tanning to front pastedown and flyleaf. Rubber stamp and pen markings on front pastedown. Library sleeve affixed to front pastedown. Shadow from library sleeve on front flyleaf. Inscription written in pen and pencil on front flyleaf. Gutter separation at last front end-page. Rubber stamp marking on title page. Page 160 has pencil markings at the location of errata. Rubber stamp markings on back flyleaf and pastedown. Back hinge is separated and cloth is exposed.
