Description: For sale is a vinyl record by Pete Fountain and Al Hirt titled "Boubon Street", originally released in 1962 by Coral Records with their red and silver labels, then re-isued between 1963-1968 with black and white labels along with a multi-colored band in the middle. I bought this record used, cleaned it and imediately put the record into an archival inner sleeve. Doing this preserves the integrity of any insert(s) or inner sleeve(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is a machine stamped "2", indicating that this record was made at Decca Records' pressing plant located in Pinckneyville, Illinois. This is a hallmark of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. The cover is graded as Near Mint Minus, still bright and glossy with two very minor corner blunts. The spine is Near Mint. The Vinyl is visually graded as Excellent with surfaces that are shiny and bright, looking to be in a like-new condition, but with one superficial hairline surface scratch on Side Two. I'm play grading this as Excellent because of occasional low level surface noise, more noticeable during the quiet sections of playback, but not over-powering the music. The soundstage is wide open with excellent dynamics and pin-point imaging, particulatly noticeable when Pete and Al have their solos. It plays all the way through without any skips or lock-ups from start to finish. You would be hard pressed to find a copy of this record in this condition, especially a Pinckneyville pressing. I have more Jazz records listed in my Ebay store, as well as albums of all genres. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
