Description: Pearl Izumi Red and Black Fingerless Men's Cycling Gloves (As-Is) Description Up for sale is a pair of used Pearl Izumi branded Red and Black Fingerless Bicycle Gloves. These gloves belonged to a family member who is no longer with us, so for all intents and purposes this listing is part of an ongoing online estate sale of sorts. The gloves were kept in an open storage bin and collected quite a bit of dust on them that had built up to the point where a good scrubbing was needed to get out all the dust and dirt. Despite all of that effort, these gloves still exhibit some immediately visible signs of use on them; such as holes in the fingerless portions of the glove as well as general wear and tear on the grip shells that are on the palms of these gloves. The right handed glove has a pair of product related tags on the inside lining whereas the left handed glove only has one. The right handed glove has a black tag with white lettering on one side which bears the manufacturer logo with the brand name Pearl iZUMi written directly underneath it followed by the size of the gloves (i.e. Medium) written directly underneath. When this tag is flipped over, the background of this text is in white while the lettering is in black; yet it's still mirrored; thus indicating some special sort of layering going on. The other tag is a list of what materials this glove is made from... unfortunately, however, most of the information has faded away from previous use; which makes the text and information reflected on it a bit incomplete; as I can only seem to make out the words Patent Pending and then Trim: Polyamide 60% and Polyurethane 40% followed by Back of the Glove: Polyester Polyamide Spandex. The percentages in this section have almost completely faded and are not legible. The same applies to the paragraph underneath it, which seems to list the style and season these gloves are meant to be worn in. On the back of this tag, washing instructions are made available in three languages (i.e. English, French, and Spanish). The lettering is a bit faded; however, it's still pretty legible and reads as follows... Machine Wash Cold, Gentle Cycle/Do Not Bleach, Drip Dry/Do Not Iron, Do Not Dry Clean/Do Not Use Fabric Softener. Towards the bottom of this tag (past the translations that is) a company address is shown as being in Germany. However, this is a bit contradictory as the other lone tag on the other glove is a black tag with white lettering that reads M (indicating the size on one side) and Made In Vietnam on the other. A bit inconsistent, sure... but maybe the product was imported before being made available to the general market. Who knows? I can't recall exactly how old these gloves are; in relation to the time of purchase, that is... but my best guesstimate would have to be that they're about a decade or so old now. Even though they're not in the best of shape and probably wouldn't work well for bicycling purposes as they were originally intended to do so and all... they can probably be repurposed for other things like say Cosplay or maybe even used as movie props for a typical nineteen eighties style archetype of a punk rocker or something along those lines. They could definitely use a deeper, more thorough clean; however, most of the rubber padded material on the palm area has worn off quite a bit, so if one were to restore them, they would really have to have some knowledge of how these gloves were manufactured in order to restore them... I figure these gloves, being in the generally worn and torn condition that they are can pretty much classify as a weekend warrior project for someone out there with the right skill set; as this is way above my pay grade.
