Description: Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a set of vintage mirror image Majestic table lamps with double-tier fiberglass shades. Circa '50s. Materials: Ebonized Wood, Brass, Fiberglass. The bases are boomerang-shaped. The rounded shades are fiberglass on the lower tier, and wire on the upper tier. The fiberglass is a beige color, and it has randomly applied metallic gold filaments throughout (see photos). Each lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the socket which is used to turn the lamps on and off. The lamps still retain what appears to be their original green felt pads on the bottom sides of the bases - the paper labels are most likely still intact underneath. Measurements: Each lamps stands approx. 28" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of each finial). The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx 20" high. The fiberglass shade is approx. 10" tall. The upper wire tier is approx. 15.25" in diameter x 2" tall. The lower fiberglass tier is approx. 19" in diameter x 8" tall. The boomerang shaped accent piece is approx. 13.75" tall x 6" wide x 1" thick. The pill-shaped base at the very bottom of the lamp measures approx. 10" wide x 4.5" deep. The finials each measure approx. 3.25" tall. Condition: Overall both lamps are in good condition. There is minimal wear to the bases that is consistent with age and handling. There are no chips, cracks, breaks, etc. There may have been a small amount of black touch-up along the very edges - not readily visible unless one is looking for it. The fiberglass shades are in decent shape - there are no breaks, bends, burns, creases, etc. On one of the shades, the upper-most stitching was replaced at one juncture in time. There are a few spots where the lacing has broke, but nothing major - it can easily be replaced or just left alone. The holes are still intact. Despite this, the shades are still structurally solid - the lacing isn't unravelling - it's still pretty taut. The electrical wiring is in good condition - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamps are in fully-functioning, working condition. We always recommend having a licensed professional inspect the lamps prior to longterm use, just to be safe. Being sold "as-is, as-described".
