Outstanding Antique Victorian 14k Yellow Gold Animal Hunt Intaglio Fob Locket

Description: A piece from my mother's estate.... Offered for your consideration is this 14K Yellow Gold and Carved Black Onyx Watch Fob or Locket. The gold looks more Yellow in my photos that it is. The gold has that sort of "Rose" tone that is common in Victorian Jewelry. I would imagine that this is a Handmade piece. The Locket opens and closes like a book. It does not "snap open or close" like a typical locket. It has a strong hinge to keep it closed. The Intaglio Carving features an animal (Fox?) about to attack a small deer (?). The carving is beautifully done and was hard to capture with my camera. The initials on the back look like "FRC". The Locket measures about 5/8 inches at the widest by 1 inch tall (including the top soldered loop). Under 10x magnification I see some very fine scratches on the surface of the stone and 2 teency weency "flea bites" on the edge of the stone. Commensurate with age and not a distraction. The Locket is not marked, the metal has been verified as 14K Gold with acid testing. The metal and Onyx Stone have been verified by my jeweler. The piece weighs 9.81 Grams. There are no big dings and no deep scratches. The shipping cost reflects insurance. Any odd Blue/Pink Color on the pieces is a reflection of my camera! : ) Excellent Antique Condition!
