Description: "Castle Tucker Road, Wiscasset, Maine," This one-of-a-kind oil painting by Michael E. Vermette depicts the beautiful historic landscape of Castle Tucker Road in one of the oldest villages on the Sheepscot river in Wiscasset, Maine. The artist grew up in Wiscasset and spent a lot of time on that steep road that was blocked off by the villagers in the winter time and used as an excellent sledding hill. Michael says, " I can still fondly remember, those days when my brother and I would race down the hill in our newly waxed toboggan as a boy. This painting I created on location for the Wiscasset Plein Air Festival, brought a flood of memories." This bass wood panel, gessoed the traditional way with alabaster dust, rabbit glue and zinc pigment is a highly prized surface for the painting. It was painted en plein air as a part of the Paint Wiscasset Plein Air Festival indicated on the back as a stamp that bled into the absorbent highly prized surface. It was painted with handmade high quality Williamsburg oil paint with the artist's signature prominently displayed in the painting, making it a valuable addition to any art collection. The painting features a stunning modern expressionist impressionistic style that showcases Castle Tucker's Road and steep hill in all its glory. The piece is unframed and comes with personalization instructions to ensure that it is displayed to its full potential. This high quality painting is perfect for any art enthusiast or collector.
