Description: Here is a unique and interesting original lantern which features a raised bat emblem or logo on both the clear glass globe and on the metal base. The globe is embossed/raised with a bat and "D.R. PATENT MADE IN THURINGIA". The globe is in good condition but has some chipping and roughness on both the top and bottom edges. There is also what appear to be a hairline crack above the bat's wing however I believe it is more a "flaw" than a crack as I cannot feel the flaw to the touch. The lantern itself stands about 15-1/2" tall excluding the handle and has what I would call surface rusting throughout. Probably normal for these old lamps and may or may not clean up to the original condition. The logo on the base is also raised with the scripting "DR PATENT". Wick riser turns easily but wick does not rise. Wire cage removes easily and globe can be removed easily as well. No holes or "thin" areas as best as we can tell. Lantern has not been tested. If you like these old railroad or barn lanterns, this would be one of those unique ones for your collection and display. Please message if you require additional information or photos. Please view all photos for visual description and condition. Thanks for looking and good luck if you decide to bid! L3
