Description: VINTAGE Wilmer J. Savella (1908-1990). This is a beautiful, unique American Folk Art three dimensional wood carving.The art piece is carved from a solid piece of wood. The frame is also carved from this solid piece. The workmanship is exquisite with amazing detail. This old Americana fine art piece could only be done by a master carver, carving every little detail of this piece. The carving is signed by the artist in two places. W.J.S. is carved on lower right of the artwork. The back is hand signed in pen, “Carved by William J. Savella Chassell, Mich. 49916” and titled “The Covered Bridge”. The measurements are 12” long x 9.25” wide x 1” thick. As you can see in photos, this is in good vintage condition where there is wear with age. I purchased this at an auction.
