She was a teacher for over thirty years, teaching in diverse educational settings. She was honored with the first Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award from Skokie District 68, in Skokie, Illinois. More recently, she taught at the Lifelong Learning Institute at National-Louis University and the Beth Emet Institute of Adult Studies.
