Old Cabinet Photo & CDV 2 Well Dressed Little Boys 1 Like Little Lord Fauntleroy

Description: Here are two old photos of little boys all dressed up, one in the Little Lord Fauntleroy style that was popular from 1885 when the book Little Lord Fauntleroy was published until after the turn of the 20th century. First is a cabinet card photo featuring a boy dressed dark knickers, with dark stockings and black high-top shoes, he has on a frilly white shirt with a wide lacy collar and big bow at the neck. He's wearing a dark colored short jacket. In one hand is a bouquet of flowers his other hand has hold of a basket of flowers that is sitting on what looks like a rock, probably a photographer's prop. His hair is slicked down and he is staring straight ahead. On the floor next to him is something round, possibly a hat. Looks like more flowers are on the floor in back of the hat and in front of his foot. This photo was taken by Columbia Photo Art Gallery of Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY. The second photo is a CDV photo, which is supposed to be an earlier form of photograph than the cabinet card photo, but some were made at the same time. This one features a little boy in white knickers with striped socks, black high-top buttoned shoes, a dark jacket, white shirt, with dark bow tie and holding a hat and a very thin stick, maybe a walking stick. He is leaning against an ornate chair in the photographer's studio, looking off to the side with his ankles crossed. He looks very mature for his age. This photo was taken by Colton Photographer of Grand Street, New York. The photos are nice and clear. The cabinet card photo shows a little normal wear from age and storage. The CDV looks like it's the oldest of the two and has a crease mark the middle, like a crease, but it wasn't folded. There are some other marks on it as well. It's still a neat looking old photo.
